OUR HISTORY

Inspiration+Co was established in 1999, with Heather having been involved in colour and design work for a further 10 years, prior to that.

Since 1999 we’ve moved our studio several times as the business has grown.  Although our studio is on the Kapiti Coast, we work right across the greater Wellington area, as well as around New Zealand.

Each member of our team has enjoyed different life and business experiences prior to joining Inspiration+Co, meaning we’re able to offer a wide range of complementary skills: working together toward the best possible outcome for each of our clients.

Above all else, our team focus is on our four core values: creativity, versatility, functionality and approachability

We’re the ‘friendly design team’ – approachable, doing whatever it takes to get things sorted for each client, and having tons of fun in the process!

WHAT SETS INSPIRATION+Co. APART

At Inspiration+Co. we like to say we’re not in the design business – we’re in the people business.

In addition to taking a super-friendly and welcoming approach, we take the time to get to know you; to listen when you talk and learn what makes you tick.  We recognise that in order to be comfortable expressing yourself – your wants and needs; your personality and your tastes – you’ll need to be comfortable with us.  That’s why we pride ourselves on building a relationship and establishing a rapport with each client, in order to best meet your needs.

This approach has stood us in good stead, and we are privileged to be in a position where a large percentage of our work, year on year, is for repeat clients.

WHAT WE WON'T DO

We’ve heard the horror stories.  If you’ve ever had a bad experience with an interior designer, it can leave you a little wary.

Our goal is to help you get the best results for your tastes, not ours. Becoming overbearing or imposing our own styles or taste bias is the fastest way to failing to deliver that goal.

Instead, we work with you, fleshing out your bespoke wants and needs; presenting options that work within the practicalities of your budget.

No judgement, no scary designers. We’re up-front, we’re honest and we park our ego at the door!

 

Our Fees

Rather than having set pricing, our residential clients have told us they prefer to be charged for the actual time taken on a project as this gives them control of how much of our services they wish to use.

It also allows them the flexibility to engage us for additional services should they wish, during the project.  However, prior to beginning any work, we’re happy to provide an estimate of time required.

For large commercial projects, however, we will typically provide a fixed fee proposal.
